AMD Glasses are pleased to offer this light weight, electronic, assistive technology headset to people with low vision, due to AMD or Stargardt’s disease. Some recently announced injective treatments* can slow the process of these diseases, but none can compensate for lost central vision as OcuLenz does.
Importantly, when worn by people with Dry or Wet Aged Macular Degeneration (AMD), and early Stargardt’s Disease, the OcuLenz replaces some of their lost central vision and maintains their peripheral vision because OcuLenz is not fully closed in like VR headsets.
The patented technology changes the vision blocking effects of those diseases, often described as blind spots within the central view. These are called scotomas, essentially an incurable blur.
The OcuLenz technology essentially “tricks” the brain to ignore the blind spots and see more full images. Additionally, the patented OcuLenz technology works together with built-in automatic feedback transmitted over WiFi 4G or 5G to communicate vision changes to a patient’s MD, when that is required, especially for folk in remote locations.
AMD Glasses are especially effective for improving:
AMD Glasses provide users with a fresh opportunity to view their immediate surrounds, with improved central vision and less reliance on other magnifiers or talking aids. They are light weight at just 400g, with battery charging connections for a phone charger. Larger batteries, for sustaining longer periods without charge, may be worn about the body.
Most people with Wet-AMD may read better with OcuLenz than just with their injections only.
2023: Texas AMD patients react to trialling a prototype OcuLenz headset
US made OcuLenz, an innovative, patented AR/XR headset, is engineered to address advanced macular degeneration (AMD), to combine functionality and comfort, and will advance visual aid technology.
Using advanced pixel manipulation, it overlays high-contrast images onto the user’s field of view, compensating for AMD’s central vision loss, by shifting images to the peripheral vision.
Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon® XR2 processor, OcuLenz offers a high-resolution (2.5K per eye) experience, with a 72-degree wide field-of-view. The headset is designed to be lightweight and easy to use.
OcuLenz enhances visual perception and interaction with the environment, significantly aiding those affected by AMD. It also has a patented interpupillary distance adjustment to prevent dizziness.
AMD Glasses will be available in USA, Canada, Australia as early as July 2024, with UK and Europe will follow after approval of CE mark from the EU trial. For more information, and stay abreast of the latest news, please complete the form below.
As a guide, we can expect the price to be around US$6,000.
We will be making AMD Glasses available to purchase securely online. The set up process at home, will involve letting the OcuLenz patented technology assess each eye for five minutes to tune them to your own peculiar scotomas, the electronics will proceed to show you your new world with less obstruction by scotomas.

“I was moved to discover that within hours of an early in-house trial, the first elderly U.S. Dry-AMDers improved their chart reading lines an average of 3 lines (c.15 letters). Other professional trials have shown similar improvements in reading food labels and supermarket signs.
I’m looking forward to helping you “AMD-ers” improve your vision in 2024.”
